Your Questions About Quinoa Calories

Sharon asks…

Are there more calories in sprouted quinoa than raw/ boiled?

What is the exact nutritional value?
reader4life- not that it’s your business but I happen to have and eating disorder.

Anthony answers:

If you are eating a candy bar, I think you should consider the number of calories.

If you are eating something as extremely nutritious as quinoa, I think you should choose your favorite vegetables to go with it and load up your plate. Enjoy!

Here is the nutritional analysis of quinoa from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). You can sort this by cooked or uncooked servings and by portion sizes of either 100 grams or 1 cup. Sorry, there is no comparison of sprouted or unsprouted on this site.

If you choose to eat quinoa, I would have to suspect you are making this selection because it is a great source of fiber, protein, vitamins, and minerals. I am so curious to hear why you are taking an interest in the calorie content of such a healthy food.

Daniel asks…

Calories in 1/4 cup of dry Quinoa says 111 cals, how many cals would be in one cup cooked?

Pretty straight forward, how many calories would be in one cup cooked? Some websites sat under 300 and some say 650, whats the truth?

Anthony answers:

508 according to Calorie King website. But keep in mind that Quinoa is a VERY high protein food. It is like the most perfect protein food there is because it has all of the amino acids.
